Baldwin Park: Sushi, Shared Dinners and a Lakeside Break

Choose a Baldwin Park meal, a quieter lakeside stop or a Halloween outing, with practical options for group dinners and advance catering.

Three meal formats: browse market or food-truck options, sit down together at a restaurant, or arrange delivery to an approved venue.

Baldwin Park offers a useful change of scene when your Orlando visit needs an evening away from the convention district. New Broad Street brings several dining choices into one neighborhood, while the lake gives the outing a different pace. A celebratory dinner, a short walk and an informal night out are all possible, but they need not become one crowded itinerary.

For this October 23 guide, we have chosen options that suit different kinds of company: Seito for a Japanese meal, The Osprey for a more deliberately hosted gathering, Tactical Brewing for a social evening, and two distinct park settings for time outdoors. There is also a look ahead to Halloween week. The goal is a good few hours together, not a race between stops.

Seito: make the meal the main event

Seito Sushi Baldwin Park, at 4898 New Broad Street, is a useful choice for a group that wants to sit down together rather than order from separate vendors. Its dinner menu includes sushi and sashimi alongside small plates, giving the meal more than one direction. Choose it for people who enjoy sharing the experience of a restaurant, without assuming everyone wants the same dishes.

The Friday and Saturday schedule has a break: lunch runs from noon to 3 p.m., then dinner from 5 to 11 p.m. Eastern Time. Sunday follows the same lunch window, with dinner ending at 9 p.m. Eastern Time. The restaurant is closed Mondays. That afternoon gap matters if a late lunch is the centerpiece of your outing; a 3:30 p.m. arrival is not within the published service periods.

For a smaller party, lunch leaves daylight for an outdoor stop afterward. Dinner is the stronger fit when everyone is finishing work at different times and wants one clear place to meet.

A Japanese catering option for a gathering already on the calendar

Seito's separate catering menu requires seven days' advance notice. This is an option for a planned gathering, not a same-day rescue order. The published choices include sushi platters, vegetable sides, chicken teriyaki, tofu and salmon, so an event menu need not consist entirely of raw fish.

That range is useful for a hosted meal at an approved off-site location, especially when a group wants something different from the usual sandwich spread. A mix of cooked dishes and sushi can give guests more ways to enjoy the meal, although the presence of a vegetable dish does not establish that a kitchen can meet every allergy or dietary requirement.

A restaurant visit and a catering order solve different problems. Catering keeps people at an existing gathering; dining out supplies the setting as well as the food. For a visiting team without its own event space, the restaurant is often the cleaner plan. For a host with a suitable space already arranged, the advance catering option deserves a place on the shortlist.

The Osprey for a dinner with a defined setting

At 4899 New Broad Street, The Osprey focuses on seafood, oysters, steaks and handmade pasta. It is worth considering when dinner is the occasion itself, such as a client gathering, a family celebration or the final evening of a working trip.

Its group-dining page makes the choices more concrete than a general promise to accommodate groups. The Chef's Table is listed for 12 seated guests. The East Dining Room lists 36 seated or 45 for a reception, while the West Dining Room lists 50 seated or 80 for a reception. Full-restaurant arrangements are also described. These are published layouts, not live availability or a booking confirmation.

The distinction between seated and reception capacity is useful. A standing gathering can help people circulate, while a seated dinner gives conversation more continuity. Neither is automatically better for a team event. Choose the atmosphere that fits the people, and let the room arrangement support it rather than treating the largest published number as the target.

A Halloween-week option at Tactical Brewing

Tactical Brewing is at 4882 New Broad Street. For a social group that prefers a lively activity to a formal dinner, its current Halloween announcement lists movie trivia on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, with a burger pop-up scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

The same announcement lists a costume contest on Saturday, October 31, at 8 p.m., with a DJ from 7 to 9 p.m. and a food pop-up from 5:30 to 9 p.m., all Eastern Time. These are scheduled activities, not a guarantee of a table or food remaining throughout the evening. The organizer's latest update is the right place for changes.

Trivia gives friends or colleagues a shared focus without making the evening a full hosted function. A costume night is a different mood again, better suited to a group actively looking for that energy. Keep the restaurant dinner as the alternative for guests who would rather talk than compete.

For a quieter pause, choose the memorial park

Orlando Veterans' Memorial Park, at 2380 Lake Baldwin Lane, occupies just over four acres on the lake's north shore. The city lists a paved walking path, open space, a gazebo and memorials honoring military service. Published hours are 5 a.m. to sunset, Eastern Time.

This is a reflective stop rather than another entertainment venue. It suits visitors who would appreciate a little local context and an unhurried stretch outdoors before a meal. Leave room for people to read the memorials at their own pace, and keep any group conversation considerate of others using the space.

There is no need to make a full circuit of the lake to justify coming outside. A short visit can be enough, particularly for colleagues who have already spent hours standing at an exhibition. Pairing one park stop with one meal keeps the day flexible for different energy levels, instead of requiring everyone to complete the same walk.

Lake Baldwin Park is a different kind of outing

The City of Winter Park's Lake Baldwin Park is at 2000 South Lakemont Avenue. Its dog-friendly setting, picnic tables and lakeside space make it a separate option from the memorial park. Dogs may be off leash during the published park hours of 8 a.m. to sunset, Eastern Time. Swimming by people is prohibited.

The city closes the park until noon on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month for maintenance. For the coming week, that means Wednesday, October 28. A morning dog-park outing that day would conflict with the regular maintenance schedule.

The two reservable pavilions are inside the fenced off-leash area, and the city states that electrical outlets are not available. That is a meaningful distinction for a gathering: this is not a generic enclosed event room. It may suit people comfortable around dogs, but it is a poor default for a mixed group whose comfort with off-leash animals is unknown.

Save Baldwin Park for the part of the day that is yours

For convention visitors, treat this as an off-site outing rather than a tightly timed lunch detour. A neighborhood dinner works best when the working day has genuinely ended and nobody needs to rush back to the booth. Colleagues with different finish times can meet at the restaurant without making the whole group wait through an extra activity.

During show hours, the Orange County Convention Center's food and beverage resources provide separate catering and exhibitor menus, plus an exhibitor ordering route through Sodexo Live! Those venue arrangements are distinct from choosing an off-site restaurant or arranging food at an approved gathering place.

A restaurant catering menu does not itself authorize delivery inside a convention space. Keeping the working meal and the social outing separate makes both more enjoyable: the team can eat appropriately during the event, then spend its free time somewhere chosen for company and atmosphere rather than proximity to the next appointment.
